Methods of molecular biology in ecotoxicological research
Understanding the mechanisms of toxicity in aquatic organisms is the main goal of many ecotoxicological studies. Different biochemical and molecular biology methods are aplied to find biomarker response on cellular level. Molecular biomarkers respond very soon and constitute early warning tools before organisms, communities or ecosystems undergo irreversible damages. Development of three biomarkers, P-glycoprotein, CYP 1A and vitellogenin will be presented.
