Agglomeration of fine flue dust from the oxygen convertor
The idea of the fine fly dust aglomeration is based on the dust chemical composition and its further use in the steel production technological process, but this use must not negatively influence the steel properties. The LD dust, consisting of coarse and fine flue dust was mixed with binding agent. The roll like briquettes were prepared from each sample under various pressures (5, 10, 30 MPa). Briquettes were tested for their strength under pressure, abrasive wear and the failling strength. The tests were conducted immediately after the briquettes fabrication, after 1, 2, 3 and 5 days. The best results were obtained for the processing with the calcium hydroxide with the briquettes minimum durability of 14 days, while briquettes were stored free on the air.
