Sažetak
The largest GPS application market is a vehicles navigation (trucks, tractors and passenger cars). Approximately 60% of GPS market belongs to navigation vehicles, receivers in mobile telephones, PC and others. The investigation was conducted in Baranya region on about 30 locations aiming at researching possibilities of GPS navigation- positioning application in soil mapping as well as in natural resources management. Garmin' s system consisting of two GPS receivers GPS 100 SRVY II which, regarding market price, belongs to middle GPS receiver class was used.Differences between three methods of spatial points positioning were tested. Results of these researches should be cathegorized into two groups: empirical and those accomplished by statistical database.Three positioning methods data were compared whereby DGPS results were used as referential value.All above mentioned values refer to horizontal positioning , i.e. only XY coordinates are taken into account. Calculated systematic GPS method deviation from referent DGPS values (average for 25 points) amounts 13.0 m and 16.1 m for AERO method. At the beginning of 1999 various economy changes began to develop as a result of built-in vehicle GPS navigation system.A common term for systems with automatized system of navigation and, in near future, management is called " Intelligent transport systems". Development as well as application of these systems , for example in economy, resulted in a new economy branch called "Precise management". Results of these investigation showed that GPS positioning can be successfully applied in soil mapping and generally in natural resources inventory. Positioning carried out by incorrected GPS signal gives equal or even better positioning possibilities than it is possible by using aerial-photographs of the approximate scale 1:20000.
