Changes of Spur Tooth Stress with Change of Meshing Phase

The paper deals with a tooth fillet and root stress of thin-rimmed standard spur gears with considerably different geometries. By use of 3D FEM analysis and the developed pinion-gear numerical model, the simulation of actual load distribution over two engaging teeth has enabled a tooth stress changes to be followed with the change of meshing phase, under complex influence of rim thickness, tooth face width and number of gear teeth.
