Analysis of the Sarajevo Terminal Area Capacity Using SIMMOD Simulation Model

The today's solving of air traffic problems that are much more complex than ever before, requires the application of new research methods, one of them being the simulation modelling. The paper presents the simulation of the Sarajevo terminal area (TMA) by using the SIMMOD simulation program, as well as the impact of the traffic growth by 200% on the airport capacity. SIMMOD can be used for the simulation of any airport or airspace, and the output provides data on the aircraft flight time, traffic flows, capacity per unit of time, delays etc. These dataallow us to monitor their impact on the system by simple changing of system parameters, in a relatively short time.
