Creep Fatigue Behaviour of Directionally Solidified Nickel Base Superalloy
The static and cyclic creep load controlled tests of as-cast and heat treated single crystal nickel based superalloy CMSX 3 have been studied. Two different testing procedures were adopted. One is cyclic creep test with different hold times at maximum stress amplitude, and the other cyclic creep procedure is in which the mean stress was held constant at 400MPa. Different cycling frequency and amplitude ratios were superimposed on the mena stress. All the tests were carried out at 900C. The influence of those variables was evaluated through the deformation mechanism investigation and the life to fracture data.
