Control of hypercoagulability in burned patients
Coagulation is an immportant issue in post-burn recovery.Hypercoagulability is a regular process after the initial post-burn period in extensive termal injuries.Severe tissue injury in burned patients causes inflamatory response with multiple implications on other vital patophysiolgical processes. It could occur in the carly phase as well as later during infection and sepsis. Interaction of inflammation and coagulation is the clue process in systemic inflammatory response syndrome. With regard to this, control of fibrin deposition with addministration of anticoagulants represents a potential benefit in these patients.
