Immunogenetic profile of guttate psoriasis in Croatian patients
Psoriasis is heterogenous disease in its clinical expression. Guttate psoriasis is a well defined form of psoriasis characterized by widespread eruption of small red scaly lesions, classically in association with beta-hemolytic streptococcal infection. The eruption typically follows streptoccocal pharyngitis in 1-3 weeks. The role of streptococcal infection in chronic plaque psoriasis is less certain. Twenty-three patients (7 male and 16 female) with guttata psoriasis were typed for HLA class I and II using low resolution Biotest-SSP kits.Control group consisted of 190 unrelated healthy blood donors. The frequencies of HLA B13(OR=21.93, p<0, 001), B37 (OR=52.5, p<0, 001), Cw*06 (OR=138, 76, p<0, 001), DRB1*0701 (OR=7, 54, p<0, 001) and DQA1*0201(OR=8, 99, p<0, 001) were significantly increased in guttate psoriasis patients as compared with the control.
