Sažetak
This report presents a visual study of the transition process of the laminar boundary layer in a turbulent boundary layer on a free rotating disc. The imaging is based on an experimental investigation that aimed to analyze the structure of the boundary layer by relating it to the ratio between turbulent energy and vortex energy, the critical and the transient Reynolds numbers, the vortex numbers and their dependence on Reynolds number, and on the distance from the rotating disc.
