Influence of climatic changes on eastern Croatia agriculture

This paper presents research on some climatic changes: precipitations, air temperature, evapotranspiration) in eastern Croatia during the period 1961. - 2000. years (vegetation period and annualperiod). Through an analysis of basic climatic data for meteorological station Osijek, it was found out that in the investigation area periods of drought appeared more often since 1981. The noticed climatic changes after 1981, are reflected in reduced precipitations, relative air moisture, increased air temperature and wind speed such changes brought about increased plant water requirement. Reference evapotranspiration is calculated by Criwar - computer program. With an increase in reference evapotranspiration, especially in dry years, which appeared 35-44%, more often crop water requirements increased during the growing season. This is why, for the purpose of irrigation practice, in this paper, crop water requirements and depth irrigations have been calculated for some crops.
