The Anlysis of Saturated Reactances of the 247 MVA Turbogenerator by Using the Finite Element Method
The computation of steady-state, transient and subtransient reactances by using both, magnetostatic and time-harmonic simulations is presented. The variation of steady-state reactances under various operating conditions was analysed considering the saturation effect. The saturation under transient and subtransient regimes was considered by magnetostatic simulation where boundary conditions were used to isolate the regions of the problem domain which contain induced currents. The armature winding end leakage reactance was computed analytically. The results obtained by using the finite element method are compared to the measured values from tests carried out by the manufacturer. The discrepancy between the computed and measured values is in the 10% range.
