New Current Sinks in a Brushless Excitation System of Small Synchronous Generators

In this paper a new solution of voltage control for self-excited brushless synchronous generator is shown. Four different types of current sinks which control generator voltages by subtracting exciter excitation current are observed. These current sinks are capable of achieving of a exciter excitation current in a much wider range: practically from zero to maximum. Performances of a synchronous brushless generator voltage control with a self-excited resonant compounding unit and new current sinks are shown for both loading and unloading of inductive load, and for starting of inductor motor loaded with constant load.
