Management gap &#8211 ; understanding the supportive role of PM tools

The paper describes the present state and main problems related to project management in the transition countries. Trough simple decomposition of PM framework it shows the main attainments, and addresses the main necessary steps for improving the capacity of local experts. Particular accent is on advocating the use of PM tools as effective way off solving a problem, but also as advisable way for transferring a proved PM procedures and practices upon which the tool was created. In such way PM practitioners from transition economies are able to improve their capacity and overcome some of existing shortcomings. The overview on already adopted tools in practice, and suggestion about those that should be adopted in nearly future is enclosed.
