Sažetak
Savjetodavni sastanak World Health Organozation Regional Office for Europe održan je u zajednici s International Programme on Chemical Safety (IPCS) od 22-24 travnja 2002 u Copenhagen-u s ciljem da se nastavi praćenje kemijskih nezgoda u svijetu i poboljša spremnost odgovora na najernu zloupotrebu kemijskih i bioloških tvari. Sastanku su nazočili službenici europskih vlada zaduženih za protu-terorističke djelatnosti, predstavnici državnih stožera zaduženih za zbrinjavanje zadesnih nesreća, centara za kontrolu otrovanja, epidemioloških službi kao i predstavnici relevantnih internacionalnih organizacija poput OECD, UNOCHF, i European Commission. Sudionici su procijenili stupanj pripravnosti javnoga zdravstva na kemijseke incidente u Europi, proanalizirali uočene probleme i preporučili dodatne potrebite mjere za državne zajednice, WHO i druge relevantne internacionalne organizacije i institucije kako bi mogle adekvatno izvršiti svoju javno-zdravstvenu ulogu u slučaju kemijskih incidenata. Na sastanku je istaknuta potreba implementacije preporuka s globalne razine na Europu kao i potreba suradnje s drugim paralelnim internacionalnim inicijativama.
