Process Control Teaching on Laboratory Plant Supported by Intelligent Tutoring System
The method of process control teaching of chemical engineering students and engineering by means of cybernetic model of a system, supported by the experimental plant developed in a laboratory, is presented. An experimental plant with a two-stage heat exchange process has been described. The process has been designed and adapted so it would enable teaching in both traditional and modern control methods. The method is then considered as a basis for development of intelligent tutoring system that comprises an original interactive system, while its author shell has been built with a knowledge base on process control methods and experimental research. Its application in teaching of students of chemical engineering in process control has been tested and then consecutively integrated with experimental laboratory plant by means of knowledge base. The base is constantly being build up with modern conception in the process control field.
