As new generations show tendency to use extensive online research about tourism products and search for recommendations among their friends and family. While staying in destination there is a plethora of possibilities how tourists can experience the destination. Hence, purpose of this paper is to explore motivation and behaviour of young generations when staying in destination. It analyses their needs affecting the motivation of young people to seek, buy and consume travel products and services once they are staying at a tourist destination. The research instrument was developed following previous research on motivation and behavior of tourists in destinations. The online survey was completed by 125 participants from Croatia that belong to young generations (aged 16-29 years). Insights about preferred transportation modes, activities on holiday, preferred accommodation types, accompanying person and review tendencies are elaborated. The results show that the shopping behavior of young tourists in the destination is influenced by travel motivation, image and destination brand, opinions and recommendations of other people (acquaintances, friends, family, people from the Internet), among other.
