Numerical Analysis and Optimisation of Grip Geometry in Automated Transport of Textile and Leather
Various types of effectors available for transport and handling of textile and leather are given in an overview. Numerical analysis of the deformations and stresses for work pieces in the shape of narrow strip and rectangular plate is performed by the finite difference method. In the computer implementation a suitable visualisation of results is included. Evaluation of the optimal grip geometry is done on the basis of the dimensionless objective functions for deflection and stress, suitable for the systematic construction of multi-criteria objective functions involving weight factors.
