The Enrichment of a Zeolite Tuff
Mineral species are the naturally occuring consistuents of rocks, and as such, most mineral species occur in association with several mineral species. A general procedure for separating a fine-grainded clinoptilolite sample from coexisting coarser materials is through the use of settling velocities, a tehnique which is in use in our laboratory. The amount of clinoptilolite tuff sample in deionized water should be adjusted for an effective separation. The objective of our investigation was to determine whether there is a potential to alert the surface chemistry and/or properties of the clinoptilolite by immersion of the clinoptilolite tuff in water.
