The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the acute respiratory coronavirus 2 is characterized by a prominent immune response with humoral immunity established as an essential factor in controlling the persistent phase of infection [1]. The early immune response is known to dictate the severity of COVID-19 [2]. Therefore, laboratory parameters that might quickly elucidate the extent of the underlying immunological response in the initial phase of COVID-19 are needed.
