Effects of climate on microvascular function in children
Although the adverse effects of extreme heat on human health are well known, there is increasing evidence that cold outdoor temperatures are associated with increased cardiovascular events. There is no available literature on the influence of outdoor temperature on microvascular function or about the seasonal variations of microvascular reactivity in children. Therefore, the effects of climate on microvascular function in children remains an open question which requires future studies to assess the predictive value of endothelial dysfunction in the development of (cardio)vascular comorbidity.
