IMPACT OF THE SAMPLE DIMENSIONS ON MEASURED WOOD COMPRESSIVE PROPERTIES ON THE LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION
The paper analyses the compressive elastic and plastic properties of wood samples in the longitudinal direction based on different sample dimensions. The samples of the type of wood most commonly used in Croatia were used (oak, beech and fir). The following properties of the samples were determined: maximum and final stress ; the modulus of elasticity ; specific energy of deformation. The results showed that the change in the dimensions of the samples has no effect on the elastic properties, while the analyzed plastic properties show a clear tendency to change with the change in the dimensions of the samples.
modulus of elasticity, stress, strain, energy of elastic and plastic deformation.
