Influence of an unfavourable colour sequence on the print result
Quality assurance in printing aims at a correct and constant colour reproduction through whole print run. With present available spectrophotometric instruments, it is possible to achieve quality colour reproduction, with only three - four colours. Chosen dyestuff that would ensure aimed quality, must have exact x, y and Y chromatically values and those should not, significantly deviate from theoretical values for C, M, Y (cyan, magenta, yellow). This paper reviewed on reproduction depend on three basic colours choices (blue, red and yellow - threechromatic). Disperse BEMACRON dyestuff was chosen, in combination:"I"-Turquoise Blue S-GF, Ruby SE-RDL and Yellow SE-RDL and "II"- Blue E-RD, Red E-RD, Yellow SE-RDL. PES textile fabric was printed, with maximum share of each dyestuff 80 g/kg of printing paste. Influence of colour sequence and their blending was investigated. After thermofixation (220°C, 60 sec) and aftertreatment, spectrofotometric was determined coordinatic colour values for each colour and their blends, which was shown plotted in x, y graph and compared with theoretical values of C, M, Y. After thermofixation (220°C, 60 sec) and aftertreatment, spectrofotometric was determined coordinatic colour values for each colour and their blends, which was shown plotted in x, y graph and compared with theoretical values of C, M, Y. Result shows almost identical coordinate values of the theoretical achromatic point (x = 0, 333 ; y = 0, 333), with achromatic point of "I" combination blend (x1 = 0.332 ; y1 = 0, 336). It was shown that replacement of only one colour in "I" combination (Turquoise replaced with blue), lead to a stronger deviation value from the theoretical achromatic point, which is in combination "II" x2 = 0, 270, y2 = 0, 327. These also confirm that replacement of only one halftone, significantly influence on print quality.
