Pivots in tongue movement in cochlear implant users
The purpose of this study is to check for evidence of tongue pivoting in atypical speech of cochlear implant users. The existence of pivots in atypical speech is not well documented, so it remains to be seen what is the relation between pivot patterns and issues such as coarticulatory processes and intelligibility in atypical speech. The aim of this investigation is to determine whether pivot patterns occur in the speech of Croatian cochlear implant users and to investigate the relation between the occurrence of the pivot patterns and residual speech sound errors.
