THERMAL2DIC IMAGE TO IMAGE TRANSLATION WITH CYCLEGAN AND PIX2PIX

Image patterns and effective strain distribution obtained by Digital Image Correlation (DIC) were shown. It was shown that infrared thermography based on InSb focal point array detector operating on cryogenic temperatures can be used for higher loading velocities where DIC does not provide results. Also, infrared thermography cannot be used for lower loading velocities as the thermal effect is dissolved due to heat conduction. Here we present an approach to relate these individual measurements. The idea is using only IR camera and mapping thermal images into DIC images afterwards.
