Acquired chromosome anomalies in children with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
In this work we investigated the frequency of acquired clonal chromosomal abnormalities in our group of children with non-Hodgkin´s lymphoma. This study was carried out on a groupe of 16 children. Analysis was performed on slides obtained by direct or short-term culture of cells from lymph nodes, bone marrow and other affected tissue. GTG and CBG banding methodes were used for chromosome identification. Clonal chromosomal aberrations were observed in 12 patients (75%). Chromosome instability and evidence of clonal evolution were observed in 3 patients, pseudodiploid clone in 2, hyperdiploid in 8 and hypotriploid in 2 children with clonal chromosomal aberrations. Structural abnormalities were identified in 11 patients of which the most frequent was rearrangement involving chromosome number 1, observed in 6 patients.
