Kenntnisbereich Wortschatz in den kroatischen Deutschlehrwerken für die vierte Klasse der Grundschule
The author analyses three textbooks (Deutsch? Super! ; Deutsch lernen- Deutsch spielen ; Start mit Max) for German language used in the 4th grade of Croatian elementary schools with special emphasize on the vocabulary. Based on the criteria catalogues developed by German scientists mostly for textbooks for adults the author develops appropriate criteria for analysis of textbooks for children. The comparison of three analysed textbooks has shown significant similarities between them in the way they meet the criteria for the volume, the themes and the presentation of vocabulary. On the other side the textbooks differ strongly in the way they deal with the creative vocabulary learning, exercises, progression and vocabulary lists. Based on the results of the analysis the author recommands the textbook "Deutsch? Super!" to teachers with modest or non teaching experience because of its clear structure. The other two textbooks are more appropriate for experienced teachers with ambition to develop the creative potentials of the textbook. These recommandations concern only the vocabulary teaching and learning.
