Wave measurement in the Adriatic Sea using floating buoy
The paper describes two experimental campaigns of measurement of waves in the Adriatic Sea. Wave measurements are performed at two locations: one in the middle Adriatic Sea near Split and the other in the southern part of the Adriatic, near Dubrovnik. Measurements are performed using freely floating buoy in choppy seas. Measured wave elevation is subjected to spectral analysis to derive wave energy spectra. STRUREL software is used for that purpose. The aim of the study is to provide data for the future verification of the accuracy of the existing theoretical wave spectra for seakeeping calculations of marine structures in the Adriatic Sea.
