The change of the electrical characteristics of the electrically conductive thread due to the action of force

This paper deals with the influence of force on the values of electrical resistance of electrically conductive thread and their elongation. Measurements were made using a measurement system developed at the Department of Textile Engineering. The changes in the electrical resistance of electrically conductive thread subjected to loading forces during elongation were investigated. The investigations were carried out on a single and a final yarn with the same raw composition, different structures, different number of monofilaments and different fineness. Experimentally, values were obtained indicating that the electrical resistance of the electrically conductive thread changes as a function of the number of monofilaments, the structure of the yarn, the fineness, and the magnitude of the force that tensions the yarn.
