Beliefs in Unconventional Healing Practices – an Example of Sufi Healing
The paper will present the Sufi healing practice and the belief in its miraculous results on the example of Shaykh Mesud Effendi Hadžimejlić, one of the most renowned Sufi practitioners on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the 1960s until his death in 2009. By partly relying on the methodology established by Martin Lings in his book A Sufi Saint of the Twentieth Century, we have hereby presented the activity of Shaykh Mesud Hadžimejlić and his Sufi healing practice, family tradition, approach and methods of healing, and patients and their conditions and issues for which they sought remedy and relief.
