EUPHORBIACEAE FROM CARL STUDNICZKA’S HERBARIUM
In the Carl Studniczka’s herbarium (NHMS code), we analyzed the family Euphorbiaceae, which contains 84 herbarium scheets with 230 samples of herbal plants. According to recent botanical literature, 78 herbarium scheets with 218 samples of herbal plants still belong to the Euphorbiaceae family, while the rest belong to families: Phyllanthaceae, Buxaceae, Caryophyllaceae and Lythraceae. Most of the analysed herbal material from Euphorbiaceae family in this part of the C. Studniczka’s herbarium were collected in Europe (71 herbarium sheets). According to the labels, the majority of herborized material was collected in the area of Austria (18 herbarium sheets). Most herbarium sheets (18) belong to Flora von Triest collection. Most herbarium sheets were collected by Studniczka himself (58). The oldest herbarium sheets dates from 1872, where as the newest one date from 1904. The exact year of collection is missing from 3 herbarium labels.
