Threats and opportunities for learning organizations – Nordic perspective and experience
Nordic organizational model and its compatibility with the concept of the learning organization is discussed, particularly from the perspective whether and to what extent the Nordic model stimulates or is compatible with organizational learning, change, and transformation. The Nordic environment is particularly suited to this process of change because it is characterized by low power distance, high democratization, participation and learning. Nordic managers have been found to rely more on subordinates and peers than on formal rules when compared to other European managers.
