Field solutions in ideally soft and hard rectangular waveguide
A novel approach to analytic solutions in rectangular waveguides with surface impedance walls is given in this paper. Starting from the most general vector potential one obtains an impedance condition for the existence of propagating waves. Wave solutions satisfyln,- this impedance condition require noninteger (complex) modal indices. The method is compared to mode matcli-ing method and measurements in corrugated waveguides. This paper is done while Zvonimir Sipus was a Ph.D. Student at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden.
