Modeling EPAS system including the exponential spring friction element
With the development of modern vehicles in the automotive industry the Electrical Powered Assisted Steering (EPAS) system becomes increasingly important. This paper develops the EPAS model which includes damping and friction effects in order to take into account all the important factors which influence the dynamic behavior of the EPAS system. The PI controller is applied to achieve successful feedback and tracking of the desired value.
