Role of new retention dams for flood control in the Karbuna valley (Istria, Croatia)

This work deals with hydrological-hydraulic analysis of Karbuna catchment in Istria, Croatia. Periodical flooding causes damage along the river bed of Karbuna, but also on the surrounding farmland. Hydrographs of high water are identified in the characteristic locations of Karbuna and its tributaries. The calculations of river flow are made for the central and lower part of Karbuna which is regulated.
