Machine Learning for Social Inclusion
Intensive use of ICT technology in the last 30 years has created a huge amount of data (big data) used by today's machine learning algorithms. The development of hardware (especially GPU) in last 10 years enabled efficient use of those large data sets. Machine learning algorithms has become an integral part of our daily life and many applications that we use every day use those algorithms. In process of machine learning it is very important considering biases that may arise due to the mapping of information by the author of the algorithm or from a data set that is not well selected. There is a lot of opportunities for further development and use of machine learning technology for improving human life. The challenges faced by people with disabilities in today's world are many. Promise of technologies based on machine learning that can help in social inclusion of people with disabilities is huge. Many tools based on technologies that helps in disability access and inclusion are being researched and some of them are realized. Researchers and authors of machine learning applications should be aware of specifics features of people with disabilities. To support social inclusion of people with disabilities in machine learning models, they must carefully choose and prepare datasets that include those features and tune learned models.
