Fish habitat Assessment for Streams in Plitvice Lakes National Park
The primary purpose of this paper is to describe a practical technical reference for conducting cost - effective fish habitat assessments of lotic systems. The presented protocol provides option for National park management officials that wish to implement this cost - effective assessment and monitoring techniques.Relevant data were collected on seven streams from September 2016 to September 2018. Measurements were done in total of 22 longitudinal segments. Guidance for assessment and final comparisons were 10 chosen habitat parameters, such as velocity - depth regime, channel alteration, banks stability and vegetative protection etc. In conclusion, this relatively simple method of data collection and monitoring can be performed by on site employs.
