Bone Regeneration With Ceramics Scaffold

Bone tissue diseases and defects have increasing importance in the health systems worldwide due to population aging and the modern way of life. Although bone can self-regenerate small injuries, for the regeneration of larger defects implants are frequently used. Considering the bone function, structure and its properties, the requirements imposed on implant materials are strict and numerous while the search for the ideal implant is still ongoing. This article will give an overview of bioceramics scaffolds as one of the most promising materials for bone regeneration, as well as of advanced treatment methods that they are used for.
