Reduction of oxidized iron ores with hydrogen in aqueous solutions of electrolytes
The process of magnetizing reduction of hematite occurs with the simultaneous occurrence of several processes: direct reduction of Fe3 + ions to Fe2 + by atomic hydrogen on an iron cathode, electroreduction and catalytic action of Fe2 + ions, which appear in the electrolyte upon dissolution of the steel anode material. The study of the electrochemical properties of suspensions showed that the reduction during electrolysis of suspension particles proceeds through the stage of adsorption on the electrode and depends on the potential. It was found that the structural features of the experimental reactors infl uence the results of the reduction of hematite to magnetite, the anode and cathode materials, the current strength and the composition of the electrolyte on the magnetization process.
