Acute optic neuritis with normal visual acuity
The aim of this paper was to show that patient with acute optic neuritis could have visual acuity 1.0 according to Snellen chart even if the patient had blurred vision. The 25 years old female patient with acute optic neuritis and normal visual acuity is presented. Patient underwent standard ophthalmological examination, Octopus 900 perimetry in NI program, VEP, MRI of the brain and orbit. The diagnosis of acute optic neuritis was based on blurred vision, retrobulbar and periocular pain, color vision defects and visual field defects. She was treated with pulse steroid therapy which led to diminishing of subjective signs of blurred vision and retrobulbar pain and recovery of color vision and visual field.
