Dynamic Positioning of Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) for Detection and Destruction of Sea Mines
The characteristics of mine threats and shallow-sea mine countermeasures are analyzed. Mine hunting directed towards unknown minefield and unknown mine is described. Also, the characteristics and requirements needed for the control of ROVs used for the detection and destruction of sea mines are defined For that purpose, the algorithm for the dynamic positioning of ROV are analyzed by testing the control simulation model. On the basis of the results obtained by testing the ROV control system simulation model, it is concluded that the application of ROV in the mode of dynamic positioning is a very effective means for the detection and destruction of mines in shallow seas.
