Titan and features of treatment
In the developed industrial countries titan is nowadays a common conventional material for structures. We can find it in all forms like sheets, tubes, forged pieces, etc. Almost all industries use titan as material for structures and as for its utilization its fourth ranked, right after aluminum, magnesium and iron, and is more represented than chrome, nickel, brass, lead, etc. Titan has low coefficient of thermal expansion as for its specific gravity it is closer to light metals, while as for its thermal and electrical features it is closer to the stainless steels. Titan can be easily welded when protected by gas or in vacuum, it is poorly treated by separation of particles, while its ability to undergo a cold treatment is limited. Titan-based alloys have high specific strength (ratio between strength and density) and on ambient air temperature is of somewhat higher quality than the high-quality aluminum alloys.
