FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE PATH TO “KNOWLEDGE - BASED HEALTHCARE”
The globalization process has left and continues to leave traces on healthcare’s business environment through the intangible production of knowledge-based healthcare services. The exchange of knowledge within healthcare is the foundation of quality healthcare services and a satisfied patient. Knowledge-based on scientific facts is brought to us by an increasing number of scientists and scientific discoveries, and we do not have to wait long to apply that new knowledge and discoveries. Healthcare professionals have been replaced by healthcare professionals who possess intellectual capital that provides and implements the scientific process of healthcare in intelligent healthcare institutions. By contributing to the increase and exchange of knowledge between healthcare professionals, we can talk about “knowledge-based healthcare”. A patient will always choose those intelligent healthcare facilities that produce market and continuously increase knowledge through intellectual capital reflected through the quality of health services provided to the individual, family, community, and society. It is essential to know the only real path is intellectual knowledge that leads us through knowledge towards “knowledge-based healthcare”. “Knowledge- based healthcare” will improve clinical practice, streamline healthcare through reasonable healthcare procedures, strengthen preventive healthcare, create more effective and accountable drug policies, improve the health-information system, strengthen awareness of health as a fundamental human right and patients’ rights to timely and accurate information on the condition and the choice of treatment methods and strengthen applied research in the field of healthcare with the strengthening of international cooperation. With this review article, we aim to emphasize, explain and encourage you to think about knowledge through forms of acquisition and application of knowledge, knowledge transfer and sharing, organization – learning healthcare, organizational – healthcare climate, re-engineering, and artificial intelligence in order to emphasize the importance of knowledge technology through support systems in the function of knowledge-based healthcare.
