Psychrotrophic Bacteria: Pseudomonas spp.
Psychrotrophic bacteria Pseudomonas spp. are currently the most commonly microbial agents isolated from spoiled milk and dairy products. They are the cause of numerous technological problems and contribute to significant economic losses in the dairy industry. Some strains of the P. fluorescens and P. aeruginosa group belong to opportunistic pathogenic bacteria and/or are resistant to different groups of antibiotics. The main source of contamination is the biofilm formed on production and dairy processing equipment.
