The influence of electrolyte temperature on corrosion of CuAlMnZn alloy in Na2SO4 solution
In this paper, the influence of temperature on corrosion behaviour of CuAlMnZn alloy in 0.5 M Na 2 SO 4 solution (pH = 7) was investigated. Investigations have been performed using electrochemical methods, such as open circuit potential, linear and potentiodynamic polarization, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. After corrosion measurement, alloy surfaces were examined with a light microscope. The results have shown that investigated alloy has good corrosion resistance towards sulphate anions in neutral solution, which is manifested with relatively low corrosion densities and relatively high values of polarization resistance. By increasing the temperature of the electrolyte, corrosion susceptibility becomes higher. Also, prolonged time of immersion in electrolyte have a negative impact on alloy corrosion stability.
