New forms of work: challenge for social security financing and benefit adequacy

Author reflected on causes and effects of atypical work relationships and their impact on financing of social security systems and future benefit adequacy. Since platform work is the most prominent type of atypical work, author presented its features, employment modalities, related payment concerns and consequently differences in taxation and social security rules, hence also having both on the financing and benefit side. Apart from generally and comparatively known concerns, concrete examples were given based on deficiencies in the Croatian system. Finally, author offered some solutions.
