Discrete lattice model for nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete structures
Discrete lattice model is used to represent complex behaviour of reinforced concrete structures. Specificity of the model is that all components (concrete, reinforcement and bond) in this discrete model are Timoshenko beams with embedded strong discontinuity, enabling us to model crack propagation in concrete, a rupture of reinforcement, bond-slip and pulling out of reinforcement. The advantage of this model is in realistic representation of the cracking process, and mesh independent response based on embedded discontinuity approach.
