The Impact of Computer Games on Preschool Children’s Cognitive Skills
The aim of this paper is to investigate how computer games affect the preschool population from three to six years of age. As the popularity of computer games in children of that age increases, the extent to which their influence on behavior and cognitive development and early learning will be explored. The role of parents (N = 167) and their control over the content and timing of playing computer games will be described in this paper within 5 hypotheses. The results obtained with the use of survey questionnaire (30 closed type questions) will show that the content of the computer game affects the child’s behavior, while time spent playing computer games has effect on cognitive development.
