Theoretical and Experimental Study of Mutual Coupling between Microstrip Stacked Patch Antennas
When calculating MoM matrix and excitation vector elements for large arrays, a high-oscillating subintegral function occurs. This problem was solved by careful adaptive selection of integration path, either in real or imaginary directions. The computer program based on this algorithm is developed and tested on numerous experimental results, that were found to be in good agreement with calculations. The significant change in radiation element pattern, due to presence of another array element is demonstrated. Thus, the importance of tackling the mutual coupling problem is validated.
