Bridging the gap between education and practice: what (if anything) do legal professionals need to learn?)

The authors argue the need for conducting a needs analysis relating to foreign languages in the field of law before developing curricula for a specific group of students in LSP. Attendants are asked to give their opinion of specific needs of future lawyers in the four linguistic skills: listening, reading. speaking and writing. After that the results of needs analysis conducted among professional lawyers in Poland, Germany, Check Republic, and the Republic of Croatia are presented and statistically analyzed. In the final part, the attendants draw conclusions on differences and similarities between the results and their own opinions.'
