Sažetak
Application of different software packages for modelling, data management or team work faces integration barriers, and provides a weak support for multidisciplinarity and collaboration. Hence, we introduced software platforms in education that comprises software packages for 3D modelling, data and product lifecycle management, virtual manufacturing and simulation. Although the platforms are primarily intended for engineers, it also has an excellent role in education. This paper presents the experiences of students and teachers in working with the platform in the last two years in the form of seminar tasks and undergraduate and graduate thesis projects. In the end, this paper explores directions to improve the education of future engineers using virtual and augmented reality that is every day more and more affordable, digital twins and the Internet of Things where students can combine their knowledge in 3D modelling, product development, additive manufacturing, programming, electronics, and show their ability to work in teams.
